Last Tuesday 21 April, we celebrated the Book Day at the high school. This year we have focused on Shakespeare as the major figure in the development of English language and literature.
In the school's library we displayed a little corner devoted to Shakespeare's works and books.
3rd years have paid homage to Shakespeare by performing a scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in front of their classmates.
The scene chosen is the final act of the play which enacts the story of Pyramus and Thisbe, whose tragic story forms part of Ovid's Metamorphoses , the story of two young lovers who are forbidden to love each other due to their parents' rivalry.
We all had a great time rehearsing, practising, arranging the stage and watching the play, and above improving our English through public speaking and listening.
